An invitation to composers, performers and audio / visual artists to create new projects to be presented in Naxos and Boston during 2024 and 2025.
Composers, performers (singers, instrumentalists, conductors) and audio / visual artists are encouraged to spend ten days on the splendid island of Naxos and meet colleagues from other parts of the world, play music, exchange ideas, propose new projects and enjoy the beaches and the 5,000 year history of an island in the heart of the Aegean Sea.
We will do our best to assist you materialize your project in:
Music Composition, Video Art, Animation, Silent Film, Installations, Projection Mapping, Time-lapse, Performance Art, etc.
Following the initial ten-day acquaintance period (late August 2023), participants can work together for a year and present finished projects in Naxos during July and August 2024, as well as in Boston during the 2024-2025 season.
In the course of the August 2023 residency participating artists, composers and instrumentalists are encouraged to present their work during scheduled activities which include:
- Daily meetings and presentations (10:00 am - 1:00 pm and 7:00 - 10:00 pm)
- Evening concerts, events, projects in towns and villages on the island
- Masterclasses
- Chamber music rehearsals of works from the 17th to the 21st century (participants choose the repertory)
- Discussion and analysis of 20th century works
- Instrumental demonstrations
- And more
Bring your works, your instrument, your film, your ideas for a project to work together with peers.
The meetings are free and open to all who wish to be active participants or spectators.

Day Trip and a Concert on the Beach
From Baroque to Modern, a musical journey through time. Concurrent events throughout the village: historic places, backyards and terraces, concealed alleys, public squater offer the audence and abundance of arts, music, and styles.
Co-production of the ALEA III Summer Camp and the ALEA III Summer Meetings 2023.
Senior soloists present music from the Baroque era to our days. For the second half of the program, they are joined by the Summer Camp kids, who participate as an orchestra in the performance of the two interactive music tales:

A relaxed closing concert and sing-along on the beach right in time for the rise of August's Blue Moon
